ML00317 - Andorite
San Jose Mine, Oruro, Bolivia
miniature - 4.5 x 3.1 x 1.2 cm
$ 725.00 (=~ AUS$ 957.00)

These crystals made a big spash in Tucson about 10 years ago, but it appears to be an isolated find in the mine since none have come out since then. These crystals are really exceptional for such a rare silver lead sulfosalt.

ex Kimball Goddard collection.

ML00325 - Gold
Round Mountain Mine, Nye County, Nevada, USA
miniature - 4.2 x 3.5 x 2.9 cm
$ 5000.00 (=~ AUS$ 6600.00)

This 3 dimensional gold specimen exhibits the buttery yellow color typical of golds from the oxidized zone. Important textures include rhombohedral patterns to the leaves that is explained by gold growing along calcite cleavage planes. On top of the leaves are numerous gold crystals with cubic and octahedral crystal faces.

ML00328 - Gold
Round Mountain Mine, Nye County, Nevada, USA
miniature - 3.9 x 2.1 x 1.7 cm
$ 3000.00 (=~ AUS$ 3960.00)

This gold is typical of the intermediate zone located between the oxidized and sulfide ore. As with many Round Mountain golds, there are stacked cubes which have twinned off the primary leaf.

ML00336 - Gold
Round Mountain Mine, Nye County, Nevada, USA
miniature - 3.9 x 2.0 x 0.8 cm
$ 1400.00 (=~ AUS$ 1848.00)

Some golds from Round Mountain require very little cleaning. This specimen had only a small amount of sericite clay that was washed off in order to expose these large hoppered octahedral crystals on the edge of the leaves.

Round Mountain Mine, Nye County, Nevada, USA
miniature - 4.5 x 4.0 x 2.9 cm
$ 10000.00 (=~ AUS$ 13200.00)

Two intersecting leaves are surrounded by an amazing number of cubic gold crystals. Individual cubes measure up to 6mm on edge, but it appears to me that these are actually hoppered growth of a cubic crystal that is closer to 2cm on edge.

El Tule Mine, Melchor Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico
miniature - 5.4 x 4.3 x 2.3 cm
$ 500.00 (=~ AUS$ 660.00)

One of my favorite mineral associations from Mexico. Pale purple transparent fluorites on tabular celestite make a very asthetic piece.

ML00366 - Silver on Calcite
Kongsberg Silver Mines, Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway
miniature - 4.5 x 3.6 x 1.8 cm
$ 4500.00 (=~ AUS$ 5940.00)

An exceptionally aesthetic silver from the greatest location on earth. The silver resembles wires, but is actually crystalline, and the entire specimen is likely spinel law twinned.

ML00378 - Calcite (Butterfly Twins)
Huáncano Prospect, Pisco Province, Ica Dept., Perú
miniature - 4.6 x 3.5 x 3.4 cm
$ 200.00 (=~ AUS$ 264.00)

This is a great specimen for collectors who like different calcite forms. There are very elongate scalenohedral crystals, in addition to doubly terminated prismatic crystals, with scalenohedral modifications. The key elements of this are the butterfly twins, which occur as large open butterflies, in addition to smaller closed butterflies.
