DZ1607 - Hemimorphite

A group of bi-colored hemimorphite crystals to 4cm growing out of a red gossanous matrix. The top half of the crystals are yellowish in color while the bases are more white. Several of the crystals are totally transparent and colorless. The yellow color is iron staining which appears to be both on the surface and within the crystals.

Gemmy green interpenetrant twins of green fluorite with strong daylight fluorescence. At first glance I would have thought this to be from the Rogerly Mine, but since it has a Cal Graeber label with it, I will defer to his expertise.

This pyrite group has a heavy coating of chalcocite up to 1mm thick. Its possible that its actually pseudomorphing (epimorph) the pyrite.

This is a fantastic gem crystal. It is nearly a floater with only a small (3mm) spot of damage at the bottom. it is not only reticulated twin, but doubly terminated with prismatic faces at both ends of the c-axis. A great thumbnail!
