DZ5002 - Molybdenite
Crown Point Mine, Holden, Lake Chelan, Washington USA
cabinet - 11.7 x 6.2 x 5.5 cm
SOLD

This is a truly exceptional molybdenite specimen. Molybdenites usually form without pyramidal terminations (basal pinachoid). This specimen has two crystals; one of which is doubly terminated as a bipyramidal crystal, while the other has a pyramid termination on one side with the other side hidden beneath the quartz matrix. This specimen came from the Mike Groben collection. He aquired it in 1961 via exchange with Ed McDole. Its a great specimen with great provenance.

ex Mike Groben collection.
