ML00350 - Gold
Olinghouse Mine, Washoe County, Nevada, USA

A classic example of Olinghouse gold. Lustrous leaves up to 1cm long occur on this thin quartz veinlet accented by epidote alteration along the vein.

From the Al & Sue Liebetrau collection. You will notice that that the old Liebetrau label lists this as hailing from the 16 to 1 Mine in Liberty, Washington. However, there is no 16 to 1 Mine in Washington, and as this piece has all the attributes of Californian gold, I have updated the locality.

ML00366 - Silver on Calcite
Kongsberg Silver Mines, Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway

An exceptionally aesthetic silver from the greatest location on earth. The silver resembles wires, but is actually crystalline, and the entire specimen is likely spinel law twinned.
