Scalenohedral twinned calcite standing uprght on a flake of sphalerite. The calcite is zoned with gemmy golden color on the outside with a paler phantom at the core.

An unusual flattened gem tourmaline crystal. Oddly, it only has five sides as if one half of the crystal is missing, yet the entire piece has natural crystal growth.

DZ1907 - Silver

Silvers from Batopilas are frequently very thin. This piece is unusual in that is has thicker crystals and better 3D growth. The herringbone textures are well developed, showing great twinning.

DZ1909 - Bournonite

Classic cogwheel twinning. The bottom surface looks a little rough, but on close inspection it is terminated all the way through. The rough texture is likely due to growth inhibition from the pyrite matrix.

DZ3504 - Vesuvianite (Idocrase)

Here is an interesting vesuvianite from an unusual locality. The pleasing root beer brown color has good transparency but the crystal has some internal fractures (ido"crase"?), which inhibit light transmission.
