DZ5404 - Sphalerite on Dolomite with Chalcopyrite

Here is a classic from the Tri-State District. This specimen came out at a time when isolated sphalerite crystals were thought to be wurtzite. Its a shame its only sphalerite, because if the old label were correct, it would be worth much more.

DZ5405 - Beryl var. Aquamarine

This doubly terminated aquamarine has the classic etched textures known from the Jaqueto Mine. Accompanying labels do not specify Jaqueto, however I am confident of this location.

DZ5406 - Galena on Fluorite

Here is an English classic. Slightly flattened galena cube with numerous octahedral and higher order modifications. The galena grows off a matrix of banded fluorite with a small sphalerite crystal on the back. There are also some fluorite cubes intergrown on the front of the galena.

DZ5407 - Beryl var. Aquamarine

The Boca Rica Mine is known for some unusual aquamarine habits. The top portion of the crystal has lustrous but interestingly etched surfaces with gem transparency. This grade into an unusual tubular texture which tends to be whiter in color.

This is a great example of an exceptionally rare sulfide. Extremely lustrous, well twinned cubanite crystal in a calcite fracture.

This is a really unusual specimen. The matrix appears to be a calcite coated stalactite accentuated by a 3.5 cm doubly terminated ilvaite crystal.
