ML00528 - Gold Bearing Drill Core
 Unknown Locality

An unusually small (19 mm diameter) drill core sample of high-grade gold quartz vein hosted in a section of chloritic metamorphic rock. Unfortunately there is no locality, however, the geology of the core is consistant with rocks from the Homestake Mine in South Dakota. The specimen was part of the of the Jim Ruder collection. Jim was the head of the Golden Cycle Company, which owned most of the Cripple Creek District.

High-grade telluride vein that has been roasted to drive off the Tellurium and leave the gold blebs behind. No exact mine name was given, however these are classic examples of Cripple Creek ore. The specimen was part of the Jim Ruter (Golden Cycle Company) collection.
