ML00565 - Calcite
Rudny, Kustanay Oblast, Kazakhstan
small cabinet - 6.3 x 4.1 x 3.6 cm
$ 350.00
Rudny is perhaps my favorite calcite locality. The reason being the interesting combination of morphology, transparency, luster and color. Pieces like this were common in the marketplace around 15 years ago, but most seem to have been snatched up into collections, and are relatively rare today.

This specimen was acquired when when it was still thought that pieces like this were Poldervaartite. The original label lists it as such, however it is now known that these are Olmiites.
